IP28 Rating
IP28 provides level 2 protection against solids and level 8 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
2First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers)
Test
12.5 mm diameter, 80 mm length jointed test finger
Jointed finger must not penetrate; adequate clearance from hazardous parts
8Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against continuous immersion in water (depth and duration specified by manufacturer)
Test method
Immersion in water tank
Depth and duration per manufacturer spec; conditions more severe than IPX7
