IP27 Rating
IP27 provides level 2 protection against solids and level 7 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
2First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers)
Test
12.5 mm diameter, 80 mm length jointed test finger
Jointed finger must not penetrate; adequate clearance from hazardous parts
7Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against temporary immersion in water (up to 1 meter depth for 30 minutes)
Test method
Immersion in water tank
1 meter depth for 30 minutes; lowest point at 1m, highest at 0.15m below surface
