IP24 Rating
IP24 provides level 2 protection against solids and level 4 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
2First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers)
Test
12.5 mm diameter, 80 mm length jointed test finger
Jointed finger must not penetrate; adequate clearance from hazardous parts
4Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against splashing water from any direction
Test method
Oscillating tube or spray nozzle
10 liters/min at 50-150 kPa for 5-10 minutes; enclosure tested from all sides
