IP22 Rating
IP22 provides level 2 protection against solids and level 2 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
2First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers)
Test
12.5 mm diameter, 80 mm length jointed test finger
Jointed finger must not penetrate; adequate clearance from hazardous parts
2Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against vertically falling water drops when enclosure is tilted up to 15 degrees
Test method
Drip box or oscillating tube
3 mm/min rainfall for 2.5 min per tilt position (4 positions)
