IP21 Rating
IP21 provides level 2 protection against solids and level 1 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
2First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers)
Test
12.5 mm diameter, 80 mm length jointed test finger
Jointed finger must not penetrate; adequate clearance from hazardous parts
1Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against vertically falling water drops (condensation)
Test method
Drip box or oscillating tube
1 mm/min rainfall for 10 minutes
