IP18 Rating
IP18 provides level 1 protection against solids and level 8 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
1First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 50 mm (e.g. accidental hand contact)
Test
50 mm diameter sphere
Sphere must not fully penetrate the enclosure
8Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against continuous immersion in water (depth and duration specified by manufacturer)
Test method
Immersion in water tank
Depth and duration per manufacturer spec; conditions more severe than IPX7
