IP12 Rating
IP12 provides level 1 protection against solids and level 2 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
1First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 50 mm (e.g. accidental hand contact)
Test
50 mm diameter sphere
Sphere must not fully penetrate the enclosure
2Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against vertically falling water drops when enclosure is tilted up to 15 degrees
Test method
Drip box or oscillating tube
3 mm/min rainfall for 2.5 min per tilt position (4 positions)
