IP51 provides level 5 protection against solids and level 1 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.

Dust-protected. Limited ingress of dust permitted, not enough to interfere with operation

Protection against vertically falling water drops (condensation)

Drip box or oscillating tube
