IP44 Rating
IP44 provides level 4 protection against solids and level 4 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
4First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 1.0 mm (e.g. thin wires, screws)
Test
1.0 mm diameter access probe
Probe must not penetrate the enclosure
4Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against splashing water from any direction
Test method
Oscillating tube or spray nozzle
10 liters/min at 50-150 kPa for 5-10 minutes; enclosure tested from all sides
