IP38 Rating
IP38 provides level 3 protection against solids and level 8 protection against liquids, as defined by IEC 60529.
3First digit: Solid protection
Protection against solid objects over 2.5 mm (e.g. tools, thick wires)

2.5 mm diameter access probe
Probe must not penetrate the enclosure
8Second digit: Liquid protection
Protection against continuous immersion in water (depth and duration specified by manufacturer)
Test method
Immersion in water tank
Depth and duration per manufacturer spec; conditions more severe than IPX7
